John Francis Ganley

John Francis Ganley, 49, of Roswell, New Mexico, where he has been a resident for 1 year, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 at the Roswell General Hospital. Born August 15th, 1956 in Natick, he was the son of the late John F. Ganley Sr., former Medfield selectman, and Phyllis (Broderick) Ganley. Educated in the Medfield Schools, he graduated with the class of 1974. Formerly of Medfield, John was employed by Home Depot in Roswell, New Mexico as Store Manager for the past year, and had been the assistant manager of the store in Watauga, Texas for many years before being transferred to Roswell, NM. A US Army veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict, he was first a family man, and was known in Texas as “Coach” to many young boys, including five if his own sons. He was an accomplished chef, golfer, and Red Sox and Patriots fan. John leaves his wife, Julie (Meyer) Ganley, 6 children ranging in age from 4 to 15, Brian J. Ganley, John F. Ganley III, Mathew Ganley, Michael P. Ganley, Kimberly Ann Ganley and Mark T. Ganley all of Roswell, NM, 4 sisters, Phyllis G. Belden of Columbia, MD, Marysharon Dufault of Holliston, Janice C. Ruza of Norton and Tricia J. Gordon of Medfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 8th at 10:00AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street, Medfield. Burial, with military honors will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the “Ganley Children” P.O. Box 10, Medfield, MA 02052-0010.
