1956-2015

Barbarann P. Britt-Currier, age 62 years, of Plymouth, passed away at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. The five foot “dynamo” was the wife ofDavid R. Currier, and the daughter of Edward and Ann “Nan” (Lynch) Britt of Medfield. Born in Needham in 1955, she was a graduate of Regis College, where she earned her bachelors degree, and later earned two masters degrees from Cambridge College and Leslie College. She was an elementary school teacher in Mashpee, as well as, a longtime reading coordinator before becoming a principal for Worcester Public Schools. She was a communicant of St. Bonaventures Church in Manomet. She was a member of the Doric Dames, providing tours of the State House in Boston. She, along with her husband, David, were members of the Moose Club of Manomet. She found herself most at peace when she was at the beach, surrounded by family and friends. Her personality lit up a room, whether she was screaming ”amazing” at the top of her lungs or just belly-laughing and sharing stories with her friends, she was the life of the party. Always putting others before herself, she was the first one to rescue an animal or open her home to those in need. Her love of teaching continued with her grandchildren, favorite times were spent reading and playing with them. Besides her loving husband of thirty-nine years, and her parents, she is survived by her children, Nathan Currier and his wife Charissa of Manomet, and Lt. Kendra Currier-Smith, USNR and her husband George J. Smith III of Weymouth. She was the mother of the late Ian Currier. She was the “Nana” of Caleb, Braden and Sloane.
